We Are Hiring!

We are growing rapidly, so we are always open to adding more staff to our team. If you’ve got high energy and a passion for entertaining families that you’d like to leverage on your weekends for extra money, get in touch with us and we’ll schedule a meeting!

General Information

This gig-based opportunity is ideal for those already employed and have a desire to make extra money on the side. Most roles are filled on a first-come, first-served basis so the more eager and responsive you are, the more you’ll make. All staff are hired as Helpers and can optionally apply as a Character Performer when their training is complete. Whether you want to wear both hats or just want to be a Helper, we require the following of all staff members:

  • 18 or older
  • Reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license
  • Clean background check
  • Social, energetic attitude
  • Good with children
  • Primarily weekend availability

Helper

A Helper’s job is to attend events with booked performer(s) for safety purposes and to primarily perform tasks that performers would not be able to do without breaking character. This includes but is not limited to:

  • Calling the client on or prior to arrival
  • Guiding characters with limited visibility or mobility like mascots
  • Monitoring time to keep the visit on schedule
  • Setting up and putting away activities and music
  • Engaging with guests alongside the performer
  • Taking photos if permitted
  • Answering questions guests may have about the business
  • Calling management if a major issue is to occur
  • Accepting any cash tips

Training: New hires will attend several events with an experienced Helper and Performer to observe first-hand what the expectations are and to get familiar with all aspects of the average event. The goal is to slowly ease new hires into taking a more active role at events until they feel they are ready. The final assessment is for the new hire to act as the primary Helper at an event while a manager supervises in case they are in need of support.

Performer

A Performer’s job is to attend events in costume, portraying a specific character by ways of acting, moving, and potentially singing in accordance with their origin story. The highest priorities for a performer is to remain in character and to keep the guests entertained and happy. To qualify for character positions, Potential Performers must first:

  • Complete Helper training
  • Fit into provided costumes (ranging from 6-12)
  • Possess any required materials in reference to the provided Character Guide
  • Be able to apply makeup in accordance with the provided Character Guide
  • Be able to remove any piercings or cover any tattoos that would be visible
  • Have an understanding of proper wig and costume wear
  • Have familiarity with, and an ability to portray, the character
  • Pass an audition

Auditions: Management can work with you on all of the above requirements. The final decision is made when they are all combined. Potential Performers will get into full costume, makeup, and hair to portray a specific character for a one-hour walking meet and greet session in a public space like a park. Management will supervise and take notes, providing a final Pass/Fail Evaluation at the end with any feedback they may have.
